Year 3 - Barossa Valley PRCC

AboutStaff Practices StudentsContacts

The Parallel Rural Community Curriculum (PRCC) program in the Barossa Valley began in 2008. It is modeled on the highly successful programs in the Riverland, GGT and Hills Mallee Fleurieu. The Barossa Valley offers the same rich environment for medical education.

The Barossa Valley, about 60km north-east of Adelaide, is famous for its vineyards and wines.

The Barossa Valley PRCC staff are based in Angaston. Students are based in medical practices in Gawler, Angaston, Nurioopta, Tanunda and Kapunda. Three Adelaide University medical students are part of the Barossa Valley PRCC program. This is the first time that medical students from Adelaide University and Flinders University have studied together in the same program.

A Community Contacts Program provides PRCC students with support from members of the rural communities in which they are based.
